Welcome to Our Third Grade Gallery!
Self-criticism is common and drawing is often less spontaneous among third graders when compared to earlier stages. In student drawings, objects no longer stand on a baseline or overlap. Beginning use of perspective and awareness of shading develops.
Projects will last one to two class periods. Experiencing the role of the artist, each student applies media, techniques, and processes to develop basic skills and increase confidence. Through experience in a range of art processes, use of a variety of materials, and development of a repertoire of techniques, the student relates process, material, and technique to the communication of ideas. Media/techniques include, but are not limited to, drawing, painting, sculpture, fiber arts, printmaking, and digital media art techniques. Our third grade students are engaged in well-rounded studio art experiences.
